The Department conducted a Mayday training during its weekly training session. Members practiced Mayday procedures, crew search patterns, effective communication during the rescue search, and the On Deck tactic. Scenarios included Firefighters calling in a Mayday after being separated from their crew and then a search / rescue team of 4 to 5 personnel performing the rescue. Additional scenarios included rescuing downed or unconscious firefighters.
