| The Limerick Fire Department had a busy Holiday week from Christmas Eve through New Year’s Eve, responding to a total of 14 calls for service. On Christmas Eve, crews handled a fire alarm, a dumpster fire, a special service call, a reported vehicle fire, and a vehicle striking a residential gas line. Christmas Day brought one reported and recalled building fire in East Coventry, along with three building fire responses in the Pottstown area. Between the day after Christmas and New Year’s Eve, the department responded to two gas odor incidents, one building fire in Upper Providence, a standby assignment for the Phoenixville Fire Department, and a motor vehicle accident.
Before the chaotic holiday week, a crew on Engine 51 provided standby service to Upper Chichester on December 20 to cover calls while their members enjoyed a Christmas party.
Being a volunteer firefighter doesn't mean we get the holidays off. It requires sacrifices from both our families and us to keep you, the public, safe. We are always ready to respond to your emergency calls, no matter the time or day. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! |
