| While clearing a fire call at Bengal Paper Converting on Main St, the Limerick Fire Department was dispatched to assist with a working church fire at the vacant Invictus Ministries on N Hanover St. Rescue 51, Ladder 51, Special Service 51, and Traffic 51-2 responded. Ladder 51 assisted with master stream operations, flowing water onto the fire from the back of the church. The fire reached five alarms over the course of several hours. The crew from Rescue 51 stood by as the RIT for a time and assisted with fire operations on an as-needed basis. A little before noon, crews A and D sides of the church were alerted to a house across from the church catching fire with smoke showing. The Rescue 51 crew assisted with deploying the hose and making entry inside the residence to assist with fire suppression. Most of the Limerick personnel were on scene for over seven hours before other departments were dispatched to relieve them. 51 Fire Police assisted with keeping roads closed for the duration of fire operations. |
