| At 2:04 am on November 2, the Limerick Fire Department was dispatched to assist Trappe Fire Company and many other mutual aid companies with a building fire on the 600 block of Muhlenberg Drive. Ladder 51, Special Service 51, Assistant 51, Chief 51, and 51 Fire Police responded. Fire had been reported in the basement of the house of origin. Upon arrival, nine minutes after dispatch, Assistant 77 reported heavy fire showing from the multi-unit townhome complex and immediately requested a 2nd alarm working fire dispatch. The Ladder 51 crew assisted with the initial fire attack when they arrived. The Special Service 51 officer and driver provided scene lighting and filled air cylinders while the rest of the Special Service crew were tasked as the RIT (Rapid Intervention Team) for the D side of the townhome block. Fire Police assisted with shutting down roads around the fire scene during fire ground operations. Limerick operated at the scene until the last 51 unit was made available at 6:20 am. Fortunately, there were no injuries to residents or fire personnel. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Regional Fire Investigation Task Force. |
