At 8:26 pm, the Limerick Fire Department was dispatched to a building fire at the Hair Cuttery on Ridge Pike. Ladder 51, Engine 51, Squad 51, Rescue 51, Assistant 51, the Fire Marshall, Fire Police, and mutual companies, including Trappe, Perkiomen, Upper Providence, Collegeville, and Sanatoga, responded. Employees reported a light fixture in the business bathroom sparking and smoking, leaving a light haze in the business. Crews arrived and immediately investigated. Nine minutes later, all units were recalled with the exception of Limerick personnel. Power was secured in the bathroom, and all were made available a short time later.
