At 5:20 am on September 23, the Limerick Fire Department was dispatched for a reported transformer fire in the parking lot of Fresenius Medical Care on Linfield-Trappe Rd. Engine 51 and Squad 51 responded. Crews arrived to find mulch on fire near a light pole base. Once the electricity was isolated, personnel were then able to extinguish the fire. Crews were made available a short time later.

A short while later at 6:55 am, the department was dispatched for a residential fire alarm. Crews arrived and investigated the cause of the alarm.

At 1:49 pm, the department was dispatched to assist EMS with a medical call, but were quickly recalled by Deputy 51.

A carbon monoxide detector activation at a residence brought crews out at 2:49 pm to investigate.

The last call of the day was at 3:33 pm, when the department was dispatched for a vehicle accident involving three vehicles on Swamp Pike. Deputy 51 responded and arrived a few minutes later, upgrading the call to a vehicle rescue after the driver of one of the vehicles could not get out. Rescue 51, Ladder 51, Squad 51, Rescue 37, Fire Police from 51 and 37, Freedom Valley EMS, and Limerick Police responded to the scene. Crews were able to extricate the driver about twenty minutes after the initial dispatch. Fire Police blocked off Swamp Pike between Smith Rd and Fruitville Rd. Crews assisted with patient care, cleared debris and oil from the road, and waited for the tow trucks to remove the vehicles. All were made available approximately an hour and thirty minutes later.

At 7:00 pm, the volunteers returned to the station for weekly training.
