At 7:01 pm, the department was dispatched to a report of a grass fire near the basketball court. Field 51-1, Field 51-2, Tanker 51, and Assistant 51 responded. Crews found a large area of dry grass on fire with the fire quickly spreading. Crews immediately used hoses to douse the fire before Field 51-1 drove around the area, soaking the ground to avoid a possible rekindling. All were made available about thirty minutes later.
