Limerick Fire Department hosted their 5th Annual Firefighter Camp for Individuals with Special Needs. Mother Nature may have brought rain, but the campers and guardians brought sunshine with their smiles and joy of being at Camp. The afternoon session had 37 participants. The event had 7 stations for campers to learn, review and participate in.
The stations included:
1. Reviewing and trying on firefighter turnout gear. 2. Vehicle rescue tools 3. Learning the importance of and using 9-1-1. 4. Using a hose line and spraying water. 5. Reviewing first aid and CPR with EMS personnel. 6. Rope rescue and rigging in a confined space. 7. Portable fire extinguishers.
The event was a huge success. Limerick Fire Department cannot thank the campers enough for attending and participating. We look forward to doing the Camp again next year and hope to see you there |
