Early Sunday morning the Montgomery County Tanker Task Force and Large Diameter Hose Task Force met to conduct a joint training exercise. Over 130 firefighters from across Montgomery County gathered in Limerick Township to participate in the exercise, simulating a large warehouse fire with a limited water supply. The drill was conducted on the former Publicker / Kinsey Distillery property in Limerick Township, along the Schuylkill River.
The LDH Task Force established 2 supply lines from porta-ponds, which were fed by the Tanker Task Force. The Tanker Task Force utilized two drafting sites to obtain water for their supply. The first fill site was the Trinley Park boat launch, in Limerick Township; while the second fill site was along Wells Road, located just across the Schuylkill River in Chester County. The drill lasted approximately 3 to 4 hours. Thank you to the 27 Fire Companies that participated.
