Limerick Fire Dept firefighters participated in advanced ropes and rigging training Monday night. The training consisted of two skill stations. Station 1 was patient packaging in a stokes basket and using Ladder 51 for a horizontal lift with ropes and anchoring, change of direction, and rigging for a raise and capture. Station 2 was patient packaging as well but with a low-angle rescue. An anchor point was established with Field 51 and set up for rigging so that the rescuers could go down the incline, access the patient, and safely bring the patient and rescuers to the top of the slope.
