Members of Limerick Fire Department recently attended FDIC International 2022, in Indianapolis, Indiana. The conference was from April 24 through April 30. FDIC is the largest attended conference in the United States by both career and volunteer firefighters. The conference provided an excellent opportunity for the members to do some networking with other attendees.

The conference training opportunities included hands-on training and classroom sessions. Topics that members attended ranged from Elevator Emergency Management Operations, Large Truck Extrication, Man vs. Machinery: Are You Prepared and New Vehicle Extrication and Electrical Vehicle Fires. Aside from training, the conference had a 3-day expo at the Indiana Conference Center and in Lucas Oil Stadium. Vendors from numerous manufacturers of fire apparatus, gear and equipment were on-site highlighting and displaying their newest products. Members were able to speak with vendors about their products and bring back ideas to the department.

Other local Fire Departments with personnel in attendance include Upper Providence Township Department of Fire and Emergency Services (station 68), Norristown Fire Department (station 27), Trappe Fire Company (station 77) and Lower Providence Fire Department (station 53)

The department would like to recognize Elbeco Incorporated, as several of Limerick Fire Department members who had modeled their apparel were proudly displayed at their vendor booth.
