Why did you join the fire department? |
To belong to a community where I can give back and help. I love being involved in the community that I live in. This was a great challenge and rewarding way to do it. I have never looked back on my choice to join, and become a volunteer firefighter, and love every part of it. |
|
What are your hobbies and/or interests outside of the fire department? |
I love to hunt, fish and be outdoors. However, since I have moved to PA, I have not been able to do it as much as I would like too. But the greatest thing that I do, is to spend time with my wife Michelle and son Nick. |
|
What do you like best about being part of the fire department? |
The ability to do something and help someone that is need of it. Also, the family relationships that are created and bound by the brother hood and sister hood of being a Fire Fighter. I love company 54! The training and the leadership is unmatched and that is what makes it an easier thing to do. |
|
What is your most memorable incident? |
The incidents for me are not what is memorable, but the letters and cards of the people that we helped are what really make the impact in my mind. I have learned and been challenged on all calls, and that alone makes them memorable. But Kids camp and what we do as a company always win out. But the most memorable call was the first page where I could actually wear my black helmet and put the tools and training to work. |

Fire Department Training Classes |
As many as I can get my hands on! But most of all. I thank my wife and son for granting me this passion and seeing what it means to me to do, and without them, well it wouldn't be possible. So training is what I love to do, but at the same time keeping everything in a balance is what matters. So, as much as I can take, without disruption of my family at home. |
