October 31, 7:37 pm: While out and about giving treats to kids in a neighborhood, the Limerick Fire Dept. was dispatched to assist in Perkiomen Township with a working house fire on Lexington Rd. Initial reports stated the house was on fire with heavy smoke and flames. Engine 51 arrived as the first-due engine to the scene. Ladder 51 also came to assist a few minutes later.
Battalion 51 arrived and made entry with Ladder 52 crew on the A side. As soon as Engine 51 made it to the scene, the crew laid in at the closest hydrant with five-inch hose to establish the only water supply. After that task was complete, the Engine 51 crew made entry on the C side (back) of the unit with another line. The Ladder 51 crew set out a ground ladder and accessed the roof to ventilate during fire operations.
51 units were made available about two hours later. |
