Building Fire Response Training at Skippack Facilities
September 29, 2025
For Monday Night training on September 29, Limerick personnel headed to the Skippack Fire Company Training Building to train on various types of building fire evolutions as first-in Engine and first-in Ladder operations. Trucks were "dispatched" for a building fire and given a report. The "first-in" officers on each truck were given the task of establishing command, conducting a 360 around the building, and giving the initial report before a command officer arrived. All operating crews drilled on communications, advancing hose lines, throwing ladders, performing VEIS, extinguishing the "fire," and locating any victims. All personnel were encouraged to communicate and work together to accomplish the tasks on the fireground. These trainings are also designed as an officer development opportunity for future fire officers and allow firefighters to understand the roles and responsibilities of a company-level officer.
