House fire in Springford Estates

October 11, 2020

The Limerick Fire Department, along with the Sanatoga Fire Company, were dispatched to a house fire on Montella Circle in the western end of Limerick Township. Initial reports from a neighbor were that the back of the house was on fire. Deputy Chief 51 arrived on location confirming a house well off, initiating the confirmed procedure with the county which brought out New Hanover Fire Company and Royersford Fire Department to assist. Engine 51 arrived within 6 minutes of dispatch, established a water supply and deployed interior and exterior hose lines while Tower 51 set up to go in service with an aerial master stream upon arrival. Crews worked quick and hard to get the fire under control. Additional manpower staged and completed tasks including fire attack, throwing ladders, establishing RIT, and assisting with overhaul.

Kudos for a fabulous job on a fully involved fire. I understand you are a volunteer department and I must say you do as good as some fully staffed and paid departments that I have observed.
