The Limerick Fire Department has received multiple inquiries regarding “spoofing” phone calls which appear to have originated from the fire station. After an internal investigation was conducted, it was determined that these calls DID NOT originate from the fire station, but appeared with a caller ID of 610-489-2222 which is the fire department’s main business line.

Unfortunately, this is a way criminals will mine data in an attempt to operate scams at a later time. The reports received that calls were received at random times of the day including late night and overnight. They all indicated there was no voice contact. The Limerick Fire Department DOES NOT use auto dialers to solicit.
