| At 9:28 on July 4, Limerick units were dispatched to assist at a reported house fire on Lincoln Road in Perkiomen Township after a neighbor reported seeing smoke and flames coming from a nearby home. The first arriving fire officers found heavy fire coming through the roof above the garage. Firefighters quickly brought the fire under control and then worked to remove smoke and heat from the home while checking for and putting out any remaining hot spots. A neighboring home sustained minor damage when the heat from the fire melted some of its vinyl siding, but the fire did not spread beyond the original house. EMS crews responded to provide cold water and monitor firefighters because of the high temperatures. There were no injuries to firefighters or residents. Responding units: Perkiomen 66, Royersford 98, Limerick 51, Lower Providence 53, Upper Providence 68, Trappe 77, Lower Frederick 52, Skippack 86, Collegeville 34, Lower Salford 78, Harleysville 89, Friendship EMS 325, Skippack EMS 336, and RFIT1. |
