Building Fire Dispatch at Limerick Diner

At 9:25 am on July 23, the department was dispatched to a report of a building fire at the Limerick Diner. The caller reported seeing smoke and an electrical smell. Diner patrons and staff evacuated the premises. Engine 51, Ladder 51, Tower 51, Battalion 51, Engine 58, Squad 58, Squad 68, Engine 98, and Limerick Police and Fire Police responded. Crews found a smoke condition inside and began investigating the source. An HVAC unit with a broken belt was found to be the source of the smoke condition. Crews ventilated the diner and all were made available within the hour.
