Crews Respond to 3 Alarm Fire in Royersford

Limerick Fire Department was dispatched at 5:44 pm to assist Royersford Fire Department with a building fire. The incident was quickly upgraded to a 2nd alarm followed soon thereafter to a 3rd alarm. The fire involved 6 homes. Engine 51, Ladder 51, Special Service 51 and 51 fire police responded. Tower 51 was relocated to the Limerick Station to cover the township with firefighters in station. Engine 51 laid a 5" supply line. Crews assisted with the lengthy extinguishment process. Special Service 51 filled and refilled hundreds of cylinders to keep up with the demanding night. Over 100 firefighters were on scene. All Limerick Fire Department apparatus were back in service by midnight. Hardwork and teamwork were exhibited by all. High winds fed into the difficulties the firefighters faced.
