Team Building Communication Training

August 14, 2023

Limerick Fire Department conducted a team building exercise to review and practice radio communication this evening. The Members were divided into four groups and a leader was chosen from each group. The groups were given a small Lego set to construct and assigned an area in the station to build. The group leaders were set up in a command post in the engine bay and then radioed directions for building the Lego, to their respective group. The beginning of the exercise had all groups working on the same channel, simulating apparatus responding and operating at an incident. After about 15 minutes, each group was switched to their own radio channel for clearer communication to complete their build. When groups were done with the first set, some were offered to attempt a challenge piece. The challenge was for a group leader to describe a prebuilt design to the group to build.
