Youth Firefighter Camp: Day Three

June 22, 2022

Today marked the half-way point of the week for the 2022 Limerick Fire Department's Youth Firefighter Camp. It was a busy day for the cadets and volunteers. Today's six sessions included hose lines, fire extinguishers, rescue tools, confined space, water rescue and a visit from the Pennsylvania State Police. In the Hose Line session, the cadets learned to deploy hose lines, spray water and roll up the hose when completed. The Fire Extinguisher station allowed the cadets to review the proper use of fire extinguishers and put out stove fires. The next station for the cadets was a review of Rescue Tools utilized in vehicle extrication. At the Confined Space station, the cadets learned the techniques and safety precautions taken while performing a confined space rescue. The Cadets were kept busy at the Water Rescue station where they practiced throwing rescue ropes and rescuing people from a boat. Our special guests from the Pennsylvania State Police, were from their Community Service Division and one of their K9 officers.

Limerick Fire Department would like to thank all of our volunteers assisting today and our guests from the Pennsylvania State Police.

Tune in tomorrow for another update.
