Limerick Fire Department hosted the first day of its 8th annual Youth Firefighter Day Camp. There are approximately 140 cadets participating this year. The cadet's range in age between 6 and 13 years old. They have been divided into 6 groups: Field, Engine, Ladder, Tower, Rescue and Squad. The activities on the initial day included review of turnout gear and issuing gear for the camp, a review of the apparatus, boats and equipment and a session on situational awareness and creating escape plans while traveling. We appreciate everyone who has participated over the years as the camp has grown from 40 cadets our first youth firefighter camp to the numbers today.
