Water Rescue Training in Upper Providence

Last evening members of the Limerick Fire Department water rescue team participated in a night rescue training drill in Upper Providence Township. The drill was organized by Upper Providence Township Fire and Emergency Services. Crews from Upper Providence (station 93), Black Rock Volunteer Fire Company (station 99), Collegeville Fire Company (station 34), Trappe Fire Company (station 77), Jefferson Fire Company (station 46), Phoenixville Fire Department (Chester County 65), and Phoenixville Dive Rescue Team ( Chester County 77) participated in the training. The scenario involved the rescuers searching for four victims after a canoeing incident. Rescuers conducted river and land based search efforts. The crews launched boats from Lock 60 boat ramp and conducted their searches down to Fitzwater Station.
