The 2021 PA Firefighters Parade Begins

September 25, 2021

The 2021 Pennsylvania State Firefighter's Parade started at noon on Saturday, September 25th, proceeding down Ridge Pike and ending at Limerick Community Park for awards. The parade route was lined with supportive residents and spectators. Limerick Police Department lead the parade, followed by Limerick Cub Scout Pack 230 who acted as the color guard. The parade paused in front of Limerick Fire Department for a short memorial to honor fallen firefighters Sean DeMuynck and Thomas Royds of the Lower Merion Fire Department. Part of the memorial included the playing of Amazing Grace on bagpipes and a fly over by 2 PennStar helicopters, as a truck from Belmont Hills Fire Company, Penn Wynne Fire Company and Union Fire Association stations aligned together to show their respect for their fallen firefighters. Following the Lower Merion Fire Department apparatus was Limerick Fire Department, this years host of the 2021 Convention and Parade. The Department displayed the strength of their department with members marching and a long line of the Departments apparatus.
