September 23, 2021

Day 2 of the convention has arrived and was very busy throughout the day and night. The Firefighters Association opening ceremonies and business meetings were held at The Loft at Landis Creek. The Association held a memorial service to recognize the 20 Pennsylvania Firefighter Line of Duty Deaths that have occurred from 2020 through July 2021. We would like recognize and thank the Protective Services students for the Western Montgomery Career and Technology Center for being the honor guard during the memorial service. The Association presented several awards during the afternoon meeting. One of the recipients was Limerick Fire Departments own Junior Firefighter Dylan Moran. Dylan was the presented the Hereda / Terrine Junior Firefighter Award. The award is presented to someone who has illustrated outstanding leadership qualities and commitment to the fire Fire Service in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Dylan is also a member with Perkiomen Fire Company. He was nominated for the award by Deputy Chief Glen Russell from Limerick Fire Department. Congratulations Dylan!

The convention also had training sessions available for attendees held at the Limerick Fire Department. Training include "Quint Operations" by Dave Karlunas, "Workers Compensation and Cancer Presumption" by Don Konkle and Mike Dryden and "The Professional Volunteer Fire Department" by Tom Merrill. The evening was completed with a second night of vendor demonstrations and display. Thank you To Sunshine Cafe for providing dinner.
