This evening during the Limerick Township Board of Supervisor's meeting, Limerick Fire Department was presented with two awards from the Pennsylvania State Fire Commissioner Office. Tracie Young-Brungard, Certification Program Manager, was on hand to present the Voluntary Training Recognition Gold Certificate, which means 100% of the firefighters are trained to the State Fire Fighter I level and the Voluntary Rescue Service Recognition for Vehicle and Machinery Rescue level. Ms. Young-Brungard advised the Township Supervisors and public present that Limerick Fire Department is 1 of 2 Fire Departments in the Commonwealth that have earned and maintained the Gold Level training certification for 9 straight years. In addition the Department has the largest roster for this voluntary certification. Accepting the awards from Ms. Young-Brungard are Chief Ken Shuler and President Tom Walters. A commendation letter was also presented on behalf of Senator Katie Muth for the Fire Departments achievements. |
