On Monday night, our firefighters took the time to refresh their knot skills. Captain Bob Brock reviewed basic knots including the bowline knot, clove hitch, figure eight on a bight, half hitch, overhand safety knot and water knot. Firefighters can come upon many situations which they will need to use their ropes and rigging skills in order to complete certain tasks on the fire ground. During our training, the Department was dispatched to a Fire Alarm at the Limerick Diner. The crews from Ladder 51 and Engine 51 responded to the call.
